GSMKY 031: Bryan the Intern

Welcome to another episode (and season six!) of Game Set Match Kentucky! – The Central Kentucky Tennis Series Podcast.  On this 31st episode of GSMKY, Chris Godby (Chairman of the CKTS) and Chad Young (CKTS Board Member and Bowling Green tournament director) are on Facebook Video, Twitter Live, and YouTube with special guest Bryan Hash (aka “Bryan the Intern”) of USTA Kentucky.

Today we feature an extended interview with Bryan Hash, the Manager of Competitive and Recreational Tennis with USTA Kentucky, as he is preparing to transition to a new career outside of tennis.  He explains how he got started in tennis at a young age.  He reflects on his 8.5 years working at USTAKY as we look back on his roles and accomplishments during that time and how it impacted the CKTS.

Bryan also happens to be a long-time contributor to the Kentucky Sports Radio website under the nickname “Bryan the Intern.”  We learn how Bryan began (and continues) to work for KSR.  He tells us what it’s like to work for Matt Jones, and whether he can beat Matt in tennis. To Chris’s UK-fan-boy delight (and to Chad’s Indiana Hoosier “disgust”), Bryan takes us on a deep-dive tangent away from tennis into his thoughts on University of Kentucky Basketball and Coach John Calipari (you can watch BTI’s video “John Calipari’s Top 50 Most Impactful Moments here:
